Duties: Responsibilities include organizing and facilitating community meetings and resolving issues in consultation with the community, government agencies, and non-government agencies. Prepare and monitor annual work plans, contracts, budgets, and applications for grants and donations. Other duties include supervision of staff, volunteers and contractors as well as assisting in recruitment and training. Educational Requirements: The successful candidate will have: • Graduated from a recognized University or college • OR technical institute with five years related experience • OR graduated from a recognized vocational school complete with a trade qualification and a combination of knowledge and experience • Hold a Valid B.C. Driver’s License • Be able to successfully pass a Criminal Record Check. Skill Requirements: Highly developed oral and written communications skills along with demonstrated consultation, program planning, team leadership and training skills. A comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, standards, guidelines and materials used in community development, community consultation, and volunteer management. A functional knowledge of the practices, standards, and guidelines of maintenance and operation of sports fields and related facilities. Superior public relations and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment and initiative while performing the duties of the position.
