The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time (from approx.
May 4, 2012 to approx. December 24, 2012) Engineering Technologist I to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties including operating a computerized maintenance management system to create and manage work orders for the Engineering Operations Department, cost estimating, obtaining permits and approvals, assisting in preparing contract documents, preparing work schedules, performing site inspections, monitoring budgets, data collection, and management of the Townships infrastructure assets.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic individual who is well organized and able to communicate effectively, and has a comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment used in construction of municipal infrastructure. You are required to possess a diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering Technology plus sound related experience, preferably in a municipal setting. You also must be eligible for registration as a technologist with the ASTTBC and possess a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $30.52 - $36.02 per hour (2011 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
