| Job Description: |
In this role, under the direction of the Inspection Services Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and administering numerous Land Development projects in a designated area of the City to ensure that Land Development related work is completed in accordance with City standards. You will also provide leadership, direction and guidance to inspectors assigned to your area of responsibility. |

| Duties: |
Responsibilities include preparing inspection reports and maintaining records pertaining to the status of projects; ensuring construction is performed to City standards, policies, by-laws and the servicing agreement; reviewing as-built drawings for completeness and compliance with City standards; issuing permits related to land development projects; reviewing and approving releases of funds and reductions in letters of credit; conducting preconstruction meetings with the project inspector, developers, contractors and consultants; working and assisting in the preparation of work plans for project inspectors. You will also be performing other duties as required.
The successful candidate has the ability to establish productive relationships not only with your team, but also the public, developers, consultants, and contractors. You will use your advanced problem solving skills to effect on-site resolution of construction related problems. Your thorough understanding of City standards, bylaws, safety regulations and construction practice as well as knowledge of legal requirements for subdivisions will ensure your success in this role. |

| Educational Requirements: |
An effective leader and communicator, you have completed a two year program (Diploma) in Civil Engineering Technology, plus 8 years related, progressively responsible experience; or will be eligible for certification by ASTTC (Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC) as a “Certified Public Works Inspector Level 3 (CPWI 3). |
