| Job Description: |
In this role, you will be responsible for varied and complex clerical duties and technical work, which requires considerable knowledge of the Building Division functions, procedures and policies and familiarity with City by-laws and their application to such functions.
This position involves assisting in the preparation of building permits documentation on residential, commercial and other applications, as needed. You will receive permit applications and assess for completeness and correctness, calculating application fees and assisting in various stages of processing an application.
The successful candidate must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by related post-secondary courses in Building/Construction, meeting a minimum of nine credits. It is also expected that the candidate will have some related experience.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good working knowledge of the basic elements of the Building Code, building/construction terminology, legal descriptions, civic addresses, regulatory instruments and other building/construction practices. Working in an office environment, you are required to have knowledge of relevant computer software applications.
