Job Description: The Mission Leisure Centre is seeking energetic individuals with excellent customer service and technical skills to fill the full-time position of Facilities Maintenance Worker III.
Duties: You will perform a variety of tasks related to municipal buildings and recreational facilities, such as ice installation and maintenance, operate zamboni and other related equipment, perform minor maintenance and repair of machines, pumps and filters, perform minor construction, renovation, and maintenance of municipal buildings, ensure building security, and perform custodial functions for the ice arena, curling rink, swimming pool area, public, and multi-purpose areas.
Educational Requirements: The successful candidate will have completed grade 12 and have a minimum of 1 year full-time experience in ice making and building maintenance, 5th class power engineer (refrigeration operator), building service worker certificate, occupational first aid, a valid class 5 drivers licence. Preferred candidate will have pool operator 1 and/or 2 certification.
Salary: The 2010 hourly rate for this full-time CUPE position is $25.69. The work schedule is 4 days per week (36 hours) and shifts will include evenings and weekends. A comprehensive benefit package including pension plan is available following successful completion of the probation period.
