The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for auxiliary Recreation Worker IV – Lifeguard/Instructors to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture and Parks Division. The focus of this position is to provide lifeguarding functions as well as instructional duties for a variety of aquatic programs. Current copies of all the following certifications are required to be considered for this position: • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification • LSS NLS - Pool and Water Park Option certifications • Standard First Aid certification – updated every two years • CPR Level C • AED Provider Certificate (Automated External Defibrillator) – updated annually • Successful candidates must be a minimum of 17 years Qualified, short-listed candidates will undergo a practical assessment of their skills. This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check prior to employment start date. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $19.66 – 23.04 per hour, plus 12 % in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are varied, including a variety of shifts on nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
