We are currently offering an exciting opportunity in our Engineering Department for a Water Conservation Program Coordinator. The incumbent will work closely with the Abbotsford Mission Water & Sewer Commission (AMWSC) regional water engineering group consisting of the Water & Solid Waste Engineering Manager, Water Planning Engineers, water operations staff and engineers from the City of Abbotsford and the District of Mission.
The Water Conservation Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination of research, analysis and the development of water conservation and demand management programs for the AMWSC. The incumbent will also develop and implement strategies to heighten community awareness for conservation and evaluate the effectiveness of programs on an on-going basis.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Maintain a working knowledge of active conservation programs, remaining familiar with on-going water conservation research and assesses water conservation programs.
• Establish water conservation program priorities and lead the implementation and on-going assessment of each program.
• Develop water conservation and efficiency strategy reports.
• Develop and implement strategies that heighten community awareness for water conservation, and act as the primary contact for all public enquiries.
• Prepare status reports on AMWSC water conservation and demand management programs and prepare detailed cost estimates for internal operating budgets.
• Project management
Qualifications:
• Degree in environmental sciences or environmental management or related discipline;
• A.Sc.T. in environmental management or civil and structural engineering as a minimum;
• 3 years related experience and a working knowledge of water supply and water conservation management issues;
• Courses in communications or public relations are preferred;
• Valid B.C. Driver’s License.
