The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to four auxiliary Pool Service Workers to join our team of professionals in the Recreation Culture and Parks Division.
You will work in our W.C. Blair Recreation Centre and the Walnut Grove Community Centre. The successful applicant will perform janitorial and custodial tasks ensuring that the pool facilities are maintained at an established level of cleanliness and sanitation as well as inspect, repair, maintain, and operate a variety of swimming pool equipment such as pumps, valves, chlorinators, heating units, boilers, filters, chlorine tanks, pipes, meters and motors. The successful applicant must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Required training and experience must include current Emergency First Aid, current CPR certificate, a Pool Operator’s Certificate Levels I and II, and a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License as well as completion of grade 12 (or equivalent) combined with some related experience.
This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check.
The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $21.23 - $24.96 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The hours are varied including evenings and weekends.
