Duties: Specific responsibilities will include: • Provide professional planning expertise on complex and diverse projects in the development and achievement of the community’s goals. • Policy development and research, and a focus on managing highly complex development applications, and the subdivision approval function as a Deputy Approving Officer. • Interacting with development proponents, staff from a variety of departments and government agencies, and the public. • Be a problem-solver, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be expected to develop innovative solutions and approaches to reconcile issues. Educational Requirements: You have a degree in Community Planning or related field plus at least 8 years of community planning experience preferably with a local government or the private development industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience; along with eligibility for full membership in the Planning Institute of BC; posses thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and laws relating to community planning including urban design, current literature, trends and issues; valid BC Driver’s License.
