As an auxiliary Victim Services Caseworker, you will provide direct crisis support services to crime and trauma victims and witnesses at the scene, in the office or another location as the situation demands on an on-call basis. While working, the auxiliary Caseworker will be under the general supervision of the Duty Officer, however, the guiding principles of how and what are performed will be found in the Surrey RCMP Victim Services Unit Policy Manual.
You will be designated by the supervisor for a specified time period/assignment to be available on-call by phone and within thirty (30) minutes travel time of the main Surrey RCMP Detachment to attend a scene and carry out victim services.

The successful candidate will have completed grade 12 supplemented by courses in Crisis Intervention, Conflict Resolution or Critical Incident Stress from a recognized institution (e.g. the Justice Institute, Provincial Volunteer Training Symposiums). Minimum of two years crisis intervention experience with a victim assistance program. A valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a safe driving history is required. An Enhanced Security Clearance is required.
