SECURITY SPECIALIST 3
Under general supervision, the Security specialist 3 performs an advisory, educational, and maintenance function on the security configuration of IT systems across the enterprise.
This role often comprises the following tasks:
Develop and sustain a risk assessment process that integrates with the City’s PMO and ITIL practices. Conduct risk assessments of new technologies and system architectures. Proactively assesses potential items of risk and opportunities of vulnerability in the network. Conduct periodic security assessments in accordance with policy and procedure. Maintain existing PCI policies and standard Security procedures. Develop and maintain a Security awareness program, and act as a backup support for the Network team. Liaise with Management to ensure client needs are being met. Works with senior staff to build and implement Secure IT solutions.
Diploma in a directly related field from a recognized institution plus 6 years of directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field from a recognized institution plus 4 years of directly related experience; or Technology courses in the field plus 8 years of directly related experience. CISSP certification and a minimum of CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) certification is essential. CCNP preferred. Experience with CVSS. Excellent communication and writing skills essential.
