The City of Abbotsford???s Planning & Development Services Department is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as a Permit & Licence Assistant I.

In this exciting full-time role you will bring considerable knowledge of bylaws, regulations, policies and practices which govern departmental activities. Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be essential as you provide interpretation and assistance to stakeholders regarding building plans, various maps, technical drawings and regulations and bylaws pertinent to the department. Your excellent interpersonal and public relations skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with others will guide your success in this position.

As the Permit & Licence Assistant I you will also assist in reviewing and processing building permit files and business licencing applications and correspondences. Your time management and problem solving skills will allow you to work effectively in this busy atmosphere.

In order to be considered for this position you must have:

??? Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by an Applied Business Technology Certificate or equivalent education
??? Completion of a blueprint reading course
??? Two years of related experience including one year of administrative support with building permit and business licence documentation and processes

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $25.02 to $29.43.
